Professor Trucks was originally founded in 2017 by Rentius Breet (right) with the sole purpose of selling trucks. Since then TJ Potgieter (middle) has joined the Professor Trucks team in 2019.
Currently we are partnering with a variety of new and used truck dealerships, to sell selected new trucks as independent agents and any used trucks. We make use of valuable systems to assist our customers with easy finance applications and transactions in the commercial and retail space.
Our aim is to become the preferred supplier for new and used trucks and trailers.
Rentius Breet
Managing Director
Born and Matriculated in Secunda. He further obtained a bachelor’s of commerce in business management and entrepreneurship in 2010, at the University of Potchefstroom and has been employed in the automotive industry for 8 years since 2014. Prior to that he was employed at Absa Bank as a business development officer in the commercial space, where he sold CAF (Commercial asset finance) to customers in the Mpumalanga area. Rentius have been selling and financing trucks for a total of 8 years.
TJ Potgieter
Sales Manager
TJ holds a diploma in business management and a degree in financial markets and instruments, through studying part time whilst employed at Absa bank. He has been in the banking industry for 13 years with various sales and finance positions, including retail and commercial asset finance. At Merchant West he gained valuable exposure to credit and financial analysis of companies as a business development officer, he managed a large portfolio of farmers and transporters seeing to their asset finance needs. TJ has been providing clients with finance for the past 8 years in Mpumalanga and Gauteng. He oversees the day to day sales progress and is key to gaining new clients and retaining relationships.
In March 2020 we expanded the business and started a small second-hand car dealership trading as Professor Cars.
